Since entering office, the Public Defender of Rights Mária Patakyová has presented the issue of caring for the elderly in Slovakia as one of her priorities. Therefore, in 2017 and 2018, it decided to conduct a nationwide survey focused on the level of control of human rights in social services facilities with a focus on the elderly.
